Local businesses advised against donation requests to “Healing Hands” book

PRINCE GEORGE – Northern Health has received a number of reports of a company allegedly soliciting donations from Northern B.C. businesses on behalf of local hospitals.

These donations are said to be going towards a book titled “Healing Hands”, which are then said to be getting donated to children in hospitals. However, the health authority has confirmed that this isn’t the first time they have heard of this organization.

“We have dealt with this organization in the past with claiming to be fundraising money for books for children in northern hospitals,” said Eryn Collins, spokesperson for Northern Health. “We do not endorse or are we affiliated with this organization at all. In past cases, the books that have been fundraised for have never shown up in any of our hospitals.”

Northern Health would like to advise local businesses and others across the north that the health region is not affiliated with or endorses this book.
