Prince George RCMP launch CounterAttack campaign

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George RCMP officially launched its CounterAttack campaign Saturday night by taking 16 motorists off the road for impaired driving-related offenses.

These are the final results from the weekend:

  • 6 – 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibitions (IRPs) with a 30 day vehicle impound
  • 6 – 3 day IRPs
  • 2 – 24 hour driving prohibitions
  • 2 – 12 hour driving prohibitions
  • 2 – Prohibited driver
  • 1 – No drivers licence violation
  • 2 – Drive contrary to licence
  • 1 – Speeding violation

Mounties will be using a variety of tools to help them detect and apprehend impaired drivers this holiday season including approved screening devices, physical coordination testing and drug recognition experts.
