PRINCE GEORGE – Announced back in July, a proposed petrochemical project has hit a hurdle.

Set to be built in the BCR Industrial site, the $5.6 billion dollar plant would take ethane extracted from the natural gas from the existing Westcoast Pipeline to generate a million tonnes per year of ethylene product.

But, today, the Lheildi T’enneh sent out a news release, saying comments made by the company’s CEO are “inaccurate.” It goes on to clarify it does not support either of the proposed projects at this time.

However, the release the Lheildi T’enneh concludes, “We look forward to continuing to build positive relationships with the Prince George community on projects and other business opportunities that will help grow our regional economy in a way that benefits everyone.”
