QUESNEL — A Quesnel man was arrested this morning after an 11-hour standoff with police.

RCMP say it started just after 8 p.m. last night when a 37-year-old man had barricaded himself inside a residence on Ettinger Road.

Police say it was related to a civil matter. Mounties say the man had outstanding warrants for his arrest and was refusing to cooperate with police.

When negotiations with the man failed, police entered the house and say the man was arrested under the Mental Health Act without incident.
