Chamber supporting local business

PRINCE GEORGE – The signs are showing up on many local businesses. They have closed up shop in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. But, as the advocate for small businesses, the PG Chamber of Commerce is taking measures to help with its website.

“So we’re seeing businesses that have really adjusted their operations to better facilitate people patronizing their stores, to use their products and services,” says Todd Corrigall, CEO of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce. “So what we’ve done as a Chamber of Commerce is said ‘Let us know what you’re doing. We’re going to promote that on your behalf.'”

This week, the federal government announced billions in aid for workers, employers and small businesses. The Chamber of Commerce has created two sections on its website. One has a list of links to better help small businesses to access some of that federal aid. The other is a list of all businesses in town that remain open in order for promoting patronage of those businesses.

“So it’s cautious optimism. We hope that the businesses that were forced to shut down or are taking the extraordinary who have work from home processes to keep their operations going continue to go that way.”
