PRINCE GEORGE— The COVID-19 pandemic has had many businesses in our downtown close their doors, leaving marginalized individuals who call downtown home with less options for washrooms, leaving them vulnerable to poor hygiene.

The City of Prince George has decided to open up washrooms in the downtown to help.

The washrooms located in the Canada Games Plaza, across from the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre will be open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 7 p.m. to midnight.

In a release by the City they say the washrooms will be monitored during their hours of operation with the POUNDS Project Society providing staff to manage bathroom access.
