YXS continues to operate for essential travel only, passenger numbers down compared to last year

PRINCE GEORGE—The Prince George Airport remains open despite the drop in flights due to the COVID-19 situation.

Both Air Canada and WestJet continue to operate flights to Vancouver for essential travel, while Central Mountain Air and Pacific Coastal Airlines have both ceased operations until June.

Passenger numbers in March were down 44 percent compared to last March. According to the Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) 44,817 passengers flew in and out of YXS in March of last year, compared to 24,964 last month.
