Road rehab to begin in May

Apr 24, 2020 | 10:06 AM

PRINCE GEORGE—Road rehabilitation will begin next month, according to the City of Prince George.

Around 41 lane kilometres of road and 2.5 kilometres of sidewalk are scheduled to be re-done this year.

This year’s largest road project will be a three-kilometre section of Bellamy Road in the Hart neighbourhood, while the largest sidewalk operation will be the rehabilitation of the asphalt sidewalk on Patricia Blvd. from Queensway to Taylor Dr.

Despite the long winter, road crews have already patched around 650 potholes so far this year, and sweeping operations have been underway for a couple of weeks and will continue into the early summer.

Line painting will begin in early May and is expected to be finished by the end of June.

If residents spot a pothole they are advised to contact the City’s Service Centre by:

  • dialling 3-1-1 if it’s withing City limits
  • call 250-561-7600 if it’s outside City limits
  • submit a service request online
  • email 311@princegeorge.ca
  • submit a service request via the City’s app
  • or by visiting the Service Centre at 1100 Patricia Blvd.
