UNBC says fall classes will be predominantly via alternative forms of delivery

PRINCE GEORGE– In a COVD-19 update by the University of Northern B.C., Interim President Dr. Geoff Payne says that as we move forward with the provincial recovery plan, the post secondary is also moving forward, with the fall semester planned to be predominantly offered via alternative modes of delivery.

Last week, Premier John Horgan provided an outline of how B.C.’s recovery will be done in phases, and the post-secondary sector is included in the first phase of the province’s approach.

UNBC says they have been working on plans over the past several weeks for what their fall semester might look like and have agreed that classes starting in the fall will predominantly be presented in alternative modes of delivery.

Faculty and staff at the post-secondary have been provided some guidelines around that plan.

The fall and winter schedules will be released to the public on May 19 with timetable and instructor information; registration for the fall semester will open on June 1–detailing the location and delivery modes for fall courses.

Payne says that all decisions being made are following principles which include, maintaining the health and wellbeing of students, faculty and staff, and delivering an exceptional experience for their students.
