PRINCE GEORGE—The City of Prince George will be mailing out 2020 property tax notices this week and are asking residents to pay using alternate methods in order to abide by physical distancing measures in place by B.C.’s Provincial Health Officer.

A release by the City of Prince George says that paying taxes online or remotely is not merely a convenience, but is in the interest of public health.

How to pay:

  • Online banking: banks and credit unions that offer payment services provide the opportunity to pay tax bills online, through telephone banking, or in-person
  • By mail to City Hall
  • PayTM Canada: property taxes may be paid by credit card using the PayTM Canada mobile app. Credit cards are not accepted at the City Hall Service Centre

The Service Centre at City Hall remains in open, with physical distancing measures in place. If you do choose to visit the Service Centre, the City asks that you adhere to social distancing guidelines. Hand sanitizer must be used upon entry, and physical distancing markers are indicated on the floor. Cash payments will be accepted, however are discouraged.

The City continues to encourage the public to leave the first hour of service at the Service Centre for seniors and people with mobility challenges or compromised immune systems.

The City is once again increasing the number of visitor parking stalls available to visitors from now until July 3, in preparation for an influx of visitors coming to pay their property taxes.

Property taxes are due by July 3, 2020.
