Cougars lock up 2019 2nd round pick

Another high-end prospect has signed their WHL Standard Player agreement with the Prince George Cougars.

The club has announced Jaren Brinson, who was selected 36th overall in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft has signed on with the Cougars.

Brinson spent this past season with the Edge Prep school where he put up 8 goals and 26 assists in 32 games.

“Jaren’s commitment is another positive step forward for our organization,” said General Manager & Head Coach, Mark Lamb in a press release sent out by the team.

“He made big strides in his development this past season and he’ll be a key piece in the future of this team.”

“Jaren is a young, smart defenceman who is very driven,” explained Director of Scouting, Bob Simmonds in the same press release.

“He fits perfectly into what we’re building, and his upside is significant,” added Simmonds.

Brinson’s signing means the club has locked up their top four picks from both the 2019 and 2020 bantam drafts.
