PRINCE GEORGE–Members of the community are mourning the loss of Bill Bond, after the announcement of his passing was made by wife and local MLA, Shirley Bond, yesterday, June 8.

Shirley made the announcement public via a Facebook post, saying “the time has come for me to share some news that has broken my heart.” According to Shirley, her husband had been facing a series of health challenges over the last few months, “his heart, kidneys, crushed vertebrae, the list goes on. The final challenge was a massive left-brain stroke that Billy just couldn’t manage despite his courageous efforts. My beloved husband of more than 41 years passed away at St. Paul’s Hospital in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.”

“I struggle to imagine a world without Billy in it,” continues the post. “He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was my life partner and best friend.”

Condolences poured in via comments, and shares on the post.

“Bill was the Ying to Shirley’s Yang,” said CKPG News reporter Cheryl Jahn, who added that Bill was always there, as Shirley performed her duties as MLA.

“I never saw a spouse more involved in their partner’s work. He seemed so dedicated to everything that Shirley did,” added CKPG News Director, Greg Fry.

CKPG News extends its deepest condolences, to Shirley, friends and family of Bill.
