Training camps set for this weekend for Cariboo hockey

It will be a busy long weekend down at the Kin Centres as the Cariboo Cougars and Northern Capitals are holding their try-outs.

Despite the heated competition on the ice, the entire organization is excited to step back on the ice and kick off the 20/21 season.

“We had some ice the last couple weeks to get the guys out and see them again. Just seeing them in a rink atmosphere is good,” stated Cariboo Cougars U18 Head Coach Tyler Brough.

“We’ve been off the ice since the beginning of March,” added Northern Capitals U18 Head Coach Mario Desjardins.

“It’s exciting for sure to be back on the ice and see what kind of talent we have for the upcoming season.”

This will be a much different training camp for all of Cariboo Hockey’s organization as each team was only allowed to have 40 players try-out.

Camps begin Friday and run all weekend.
