PRINCE GEORGE–A few are one step closer to their entrepreneurial dream, after participating in Prince George’s Titan’s Den.

Earlier this year the City of Prince George announced Titan’s Den, a pilot project in which prospective entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to an assortment of local business leaders, in hopes of receiving tips and money towards their dream businesses.

“Participating in the Titans event has been an invigorating experience for me. I was very nervous as it was completely out of my comfort zone.”–Amanda Robertson, Participant, Titan’s Den

Robertson, while nervous to participate in the event on Oct.29, managed to muster up the courage, and ended up walking away with $2,250 in support from the Titans for her idea.

“I almost cancelled out of fear that my presentation wasn’t impressive enough, but I am immensely grateful to have found my courage again. The Titans were amazing, and the feedback was eye-opening and thought-provoking. Thank you Titans – I look forward to making you proud of your choice,” said Robertson.

“It is exciting to see entrepreneurs from all walks of life exploring ideas that could grow into sustainable businesses and to connect entrepreneurs to mentors and potential funding opportunities, as well as one another.”–Melissa Barcellos, City of Prince George Manager of Economic Development

In total, the City received 20 submissions, nine of who presented their ideas and five of who walked away with a combined total of $9,850 in start-up money. The City of Prince George will be reviewing the results of their pilot event and determining whether or not Titan’s Den will be offered again in the new year.
