Ski hills and resorts readying for upcoming season
PRINCE GEORGE – The snow isn’t going anywhere, which bodes well for those anxiously waiting to hit the slopes in and around Prince George.
“I mean right now we’re looking at temperatures probably below normal for this time of year,” states Gregg Walters, a meteorologist with Environment Canada. “Normally, we’re looking at highs of about zero and lows of minus seven, so it has been certainly at that level or a little bit below which is good for maintaining the snow that we do have.”
Good news for those out grooming and combing the snow at ski resorts across Northern BC. While the Hart Ski Hill is projecting its opening to be early in December, larger resorts, such as Powder King just north of Prince George, aim to be opening their powdered slopes as early as November 20th.
