Former Prince George Airport CEO denies allegations, files wrongful dismissal counterclaim
PRINCE GEORGE — A legal battle between the Prince George Airport Authority Inc. and its former president and CEO, Geoff Ritchie, has expanded after Ritchie filed a counterclaim alleging wrongful dismissal and bad-faith conduct by the airport authority following his termination last month.
The dispute stems from Ritchie’s dismissal on Oct. 2, 2026. The airport authority subsequently filed a civil lawsuit alleging he improperly removed confidential documents and retained airport property after his employment ended.
In a response filed in B.C. Supreme Court, Ritchie denies the allegations and argues the airport authority has failed to identify any specific documents it claims are missing. He maintains he did not remove, copy, disclose or dispose of confidential airport records.
According to the court filing, Ritchie says any materials removed from the airport were packed in plain view of airport directors and staff on the day of his dismissal. He alleges airport employees loaded the boxes and the airport authority arranged and paid for their shipment.
