Updated-Winter storm warning in effect for Hw97 and the Pine Pass

Updated-BC PEACE RIVER- A Pacific storm is bringing heavy snow and strong winds to the Pine Pass.

Conditions should finally improve this morning as the storm system exits the region.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.

Road conditions are available at www.drivebc.ca.

Earlier- B.C. PEACE RIVER – Hazardous winter conditions are expected once again on Highway 97 and the Pine Pass ,as a Pacific storm brings heavy snow and strong winds to the region today.

10 to 15 cm of snow is expected during the day plus and additional 10 to 15 cm tonight. Gusty northeasterly winds will develop this morning and persist until at least this evening, leading to reduced visibilities in blowing snow.

Conditions should improve by early Wednesday morning as the storm system exits the region.
