For many people eating a naturally ripened fruit or vegetable, they can taste the rich flavours. And at times the juiciest and most vibrant tasting fruits and veggies are those sometimes that are in season.

According to health professionals what’s most important is to learn how to eat a variety of fruit and vegetables.

During the winter months Canadians have limited access to fresh and affordable fruit and vegetables. But there are still many fruits and veggies that store well over the winter season.

According to Canada’s Food Guide, it best to choose canned vegetables with little to no added sodium. And be aware of the number of sugars that are added to canned fruit.
