PRINCE GEORGE – They’ve been making noise ever since the battle began with COVID-19, at one point going over 40 days in a row.

Meet Wesley Mitchell and Ivan Paquette, the pair have been drumming for the many they know in the healthcare field and those fighting for their lives.

“I have lots of friends and family that work in the healthcare system,” says Paquette. “I’ve been getting calls from healthcare workers, especially a lot over Facebook lately asking for us to come and drum to raise positivity.”

The pair is also asking for you to come and share your support as well on Wednesday in a renewed call to show everyone at UHNBC that we care.

“As you see patients like Harry Good, and Denise Lowley looking out their windows with hope and love and seeing us with our drums, seeing the cars that go by honking you get the healthcare workers banging on the windows, it’s just endless positive ripples I’ve gotten from being involved with this,” says Wesley Mitchell

The pair both extremely humbled by the feedback they’ve received so far, both hoping the little bit of positivity can make its way into the hearts of those inside Jubilee Lodge and UHNBC.

“We will be drumming at 6:30, and we are hoping all of Prince George to come down and show their support as well,” says Paquette.

This comes as BC Health Minister Adrian Dix renewed a call to show support for healthcare workers across the province December 23rd.
