PRINCE GEORGE — A Northern Health Connections bus driver has been taken to hospital with injuries following a single vehicle crash on Highway 97, about 15 kilometres north of Quesnel tonight.

Northern Health says it happened at approximately 5:45 p.m. and is under investigation though it appears the incident was weather-related.

“There were no life-threatening injuries to either occupant of the bus; the passenger was unharmed, and the driver is receiving care at GR Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel. The NH Connections bus was on a regular short-haul route between Prince George Quesnel, at the time,” says Northern Health.

The health authority says arrangements are being made to safely recover the disabled coach tomorrow. No service disruptions are expected as a result of the incident, with the next scheduled Prince George-Quesnel route set for Tuesday, January 12.
