PRINCE GEORGE — 2020 was an historic and record year for Northern BC Crime Stoppers.

The organization dedicated to fighting crime says it received a record 997 tips, resulting in 31 arrests.

Those arrests led to the seizure of $144,000 worth of drugs and helped clear 10 criminal cases.

As a result, Northern BC Crime Stoppers handed out 11 cash rewards totalling $2,400.

Since its inception in 1985, Northern BC Crime Stoppers has received 18,545 tips leading to 1,595 arrests. Those tips have resulted in 617 cash rewards totalling $178,700.

The value of property and drugs seized since 1985 has reached $39,381,227.

Now in its 36th year, Northern BC Crime Stoppers recently expanded its reach and now takes tips north to the Yukon border, south to Williams Lake, west to Smithers and east to the Alberta border.
