Charges laid in 2018 shooting death near Fort St. James

FORT ST. JAMES — An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting death near Fort St. James.
It was made on Tuesday (Jan.12) by the RCMP’s North District Major Crime Unit and the Fort St. James RCMP.
Thirty-seven-year-old Martha Joseph of Yekooche has been charged with one count of manslaughter in the death of Shauna Sam of Necoslie. Sam died of a gunshot wound on June 21, 2018 at Yekooche.
Police say Joseph is scheduled to make her next court appearance on Jan.25.
