Unseasonal temperatures create more potholes

PRINCE GEORGE – As the temperatures hover around the freezing mark, some city work crews have been kept busy filling potholes on our streets rather than plowing snow.

Potholes are caused by the expansion and contraction of water after the water has entered into the road surface and under the pavement.

When water freezes, it expands causing the road to crack.
