Big hype in Prince George, as the Site C turbine awaits its next destination

PRINCE GEORGE – A wave of excitement blanketed the city of PG Saturday. As the Site C turbine awaits its next leg of its trip. Currently, it is parked on the outskirts of the city and will travel to Bear Lake, BC overnight tonight.

The convoy, which houses a twenty-person crew, travels an average of 40 kilometers per hour, carrying a weight of over 770,000 lbs and is 267’ in length. The turbine itself is originally from Brazil and arrived in Prince Rupert earlier this year.

This project, which is run by the Omega Morgan team, has been in the works for roughly two years, and the estimated time of arrival for the Turbine to Site C is about 5 days. Weather dependant.
