20 new cases of COVID-19 in the Northern Health region

PRINCE GEORGE — Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced 456 new cases of COVID-19 today.

Here’s the regional breakdown:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 108
  • Fraser Health: 259
  • Island Health: 35
  • Interior Health: 30
  • Northern Health: 20
  • Cases of people who reside outside Canada: 4

That brings the total number of cases in B.C. since the pandemic began to 78,278, 72,219 of which have recovered.

“There are 4,668 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, with 7,924 people under public health monitoring as a result of identified exposure to known cases,” says Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix.

Of the active cases, they say 237 people are in hospital with COVID-19, 64 of whom are in intensive care.

To date, Henry and Dix say 230,875 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in B.C., 62,608 of which are second doses.

Sadly there have been two new COVID-19 related deaths for a total of 1,338 in B.C.
