Unemployment numbers drop
An across-the -board drop in February jobless numbers

PRINCE GEORGE – Statistics Canada says the economy added 259,000 jobs in February, almost wiping out losses sustained over the previous two months. The national unemployment rate fell to 8.2 per cent from 9.4 the previous month , the lowest level since March 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. BC’s unemployment rate dropped to 6.9 percent ,from 8 in January . The jobless rate in Prince George dipped to 6.4 percent last month from 6.8 the previous month .
