Red Cedar book battle moved online

PRINCE GEORGE – Each year several School District 57 students participate in an annual booking reading competition – the Red Cedar Book Reading Battle. And if it weren’t for the creative minds at Blackburn Elementary, the competition would have been canceled because of the ongoing pandemic.

Grade 6 and 7 Blackburn Elementary School students prepare for the competition by quizzing each other on books they have read and continue to re-read them.

In April, typically students from around the district gather at a host school and are quizzed on the books they have read since the start of the school year.
