VEGAS, NEVADA – The general manager of the Vegas Golden Knights announced on Tuesday (March 30) a series of roster transactions, including the signing of defenceman Layton Ahac, a former member and key contributor to the historic 2019 Prince George Spruce Kings roster.

The terms of the contract are a three-year, entry-level contract beginning during the 2021-22 season.

Ahac, who also signed an AHL contract with the Silver Knights for the remainder of this season, collected nine points (1 G, 8 A) in 27 games during his sophomore season at Ohio State University, the second-highest point total among all Buckeye defensemen.

As a freshman last year, he appeared in each of the team’s 36 contests and recorded three points (0 G, 3 A) to go with 25 penalty minutes.

Before venturing into the NCAA ranks, Ahac spent two seasons with the Spruce Kings and helped lead the team to a BCHL Championship during the 2018-19 season.

In his two years in Prince George, Ahac played in 110 regular season games, tallying 10 goals and 51 assists (61 total points). Come playoffs, the D-man played in 41 games with 22 points.

Ahac was selected by the Golden Knights in the third round (86th overall) during the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
