1,168 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., 26 in the Northern Health region

PRINCE GEORGE — Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix have announced 1,168 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C. today.

That brings the total number of cases in B.C. since the pandemic began to 114,870. Of those people, 103,360 have recovered.

Here’s the regional breakdown of cases:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 341
  • Fraser Health: 632
  • Island Health: 64
  • Interior Health: 105
  • Northern Health: 26

There are 9,821 active cases of COVID-19, with 16,304 people under public health monitoring as a result of identified exposure to known cases.

Of the active cases, 397 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, 120 of whom are in intensive care.

Sadly, there have been six new COVID-19 related deaths bringing B.C.’s death toll to 1,521.

To date, 1,190,832 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C., 87,820 of which are second doses.
