BC indoor dining ban to be extended into May

PRINCE GEORGE – The restrictions surrounding indoor dining in BC will be extended into May according to the BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association.

Several reports claim the restrictions will be extended until after the May long weekend.

This comes after Premier John Horgan said Tuesday that even more restrictions, especially surrounding travel may be on the table.

The Alliance of Beverage Licenses in British Columbia (ABLE BC) posted publicly to say the restrictions are expected to be extended through May long weekend.

In the meantime, restaurants will have to offer outdoor dining service, or move to take-out and delivery options to operate.

For North 54 downtown Prince George, the move to a sidewalk patio is not an easy adjustment.

Many like North 54 say they are working with the city to try and accommodate an extension.

As of Wednesday afternoon, a spokesperson from the City of Prince George said the city had received “a number of calls,” in regards to patio extensions within city limits.

So far there have been five permits approved for temporary patios, or patio extensions for restaurants within the city.
