TEAAM training in Prince George

Prince George – The Technical Evacuation Advanced Aero Medical Society, better known as TEAAM, began training this week in Prince George. And if all goes as planned, they could be ready to take flight by June.

Jesse Flegel, who runs the Prince George base says this is something that has been months in the making.

“You have to understand that even though we have paramedics who are used to working the field, we also have a team full of doctors and emergency ICU nurses who work outside of the hospital is very new to them,” said Flegel “So, today is a chance for everybody to start working together and start building the comradery and teamwork that you need. “

Now, this is not a replacement for other search and rescue teams or BC Ambulance, they are more here to fill the gap between the services and to work alongside other organizations. Because the long and the short of it is, it’s always about the patient.

So far, the response from the community has been overwhelming, and they even had their first donation from a company out of Mackenzie.

Miles Randell, who is the President of TEAAM said the teams are made up of a variety of players from all over the Province, including Prince George.

“Because it’s a different type of medicine than what they normally practice. They are excited to make a difference in a more remote setting, and they are excited about the treatment options that we are able to offer.”

All and all both Miles and Jesse are excited to bring this opportunity to Prince George and appreciate current and future support. For more information or to donate head to teaam.ca
