VANDERHOOF — Vanderhoof RCMP are seeking the public’s help following the attempted theft of two D8 bulldozers on the Barlow Lake Forest Service Road last Wednesday (May 19).

When RCMP arrived on scene, they say it appeared that someone had been off roading and had got their vehicle stuck in the mud.

RCMP say the suspect or suspects then hotwired a D8 bulldozer in an attempt to pull their vehicle out of the mud. The bulldozer also became stuck in the mud, at which point the suspect hotwired a second D8 bulldozer, pulled their vehicle out of the mud and left the area.

Damages to the bulldozers are estimated at $500,000. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
