250 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., 8 up north

VICTORIA — The number of COVID-19 cases continues to go down in British Columbia.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says there are 250 new cases of the virus in B.C. to report today, bringing the total number of cases in B.C. to 142,886 since the pandemic began. Of those, 137,517 have recovered.

Here’s the regional breakdown:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 84
  • Fraser Health: 109
  • Island Health: 9
  • Interior Health: 40
  • Northern Health: 8

There are 3,580 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C. with 296 people in hospital, 97 of whom are in intensive care.

Sadly, three new COVID-19 related deaths bringing B.C.’s death toll to 1,683.

A total of 2,979,951 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to adults 18 and over in B.C., 152,010 of which are second doses.
