Prince George Youth Soccer Association awaits word from viaSport and BC Soccer to restart their season

PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Youth Soccer Association was one of many sports organizations across BC given the green light in Tuesday’s address by Dr. Bonnie Henry. For PGYSA however, they still await further instructions from their governing bodies as they look to stay within the guidelines.

For PGYSA they are under strict protocols as they look to maintain their partnership with both BC and Canada Soccer. Before they begin the restart to their season, they have to continue to devote their time to new and ever changing guidelines, needed to remain under the BC Soccer umbrella.

For Terrol Russell, Director of Club Operations for PGYSA, it’s been a tough balancing act to try and stay within the guidelines as well as provide the kids with the opportunity to get back to playing soccer. That has left parents wondering why they are yet to get back to the pitch.

“There is a lot of information that has come out, the only thing that I really wanna stress is, is that the way soccer used to operate, it doesn’t operate like that anymore and we have to make sure that over the the next year we do as much communication and education… so that we make sure our members are taken care of.”
