Dawson Creek RCMP arrest B & E suspect

DAWSON CREEK — A 35-year old man has been arrested in connection to a break and enter and recovered stolen ATV in Dawson Creek.

Dawson Creek RCMP Staff Sgt. Damon Werrell says on Monday night (June 7) at around 11:30 p.m. police were dispatched to a call where a man was believed to be breaking in to a gated compound on 17th Street near 98th Avenue.

He says police went to the scene where they located a 35-year-old man walking away from the area. The man, identified as Matthew Ayotte, was found to have been breaking in to the compound by dragging the fence down with a three-wheeled ATV. After Ayotte was arrested, police discovered that the ATV had been reported stolen earlier that day.

Werrell says Ayotte has been charged with break and enter with intent, possession of stolen property and mischief under $5,000.
