QUESNEL — Northern Health Medical Health Officers declared an end to a COVID-19 outbreak involving two Quesnel-based reforestation companies Wednesday (June 16).

The outbreaks originally declared on May 20, 2021, saw 10 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and one death associated with Dewan Enterprise LTD and MIKEGROSITE Consulting LTD.

Northern Health also lifted the workplace closure orders issued May 10, 2021, for both companies. Medical health officers said both employers have met the requirements for re-opening. The requirements include providing an action plan to bring them into compliance with a COVID-19 safety plan, ensuring there are adequate infection control measures implemented, and a plan for supporting workers who are sick, or need to self-isolate.
