PRINCE GEORGE – Ecole Franco-Nord Elementry was the victim of vandalism on Monday night once again. Vandals destroyed their garden, broke windows, and stole a large number of electronics and other valuables.

“Every time we have to replace these it’s between $2,000-$4,000 a window which comes out of our school budget. Money that could be going towards our students,” said Dolores Patenaude, Principal of École Franco-Nord Elementary.

The garden is a part of the school’s Farm to Table program where students plant and maintain the food that is eventually served in the cafeteria.

“Our students work very hard. It’s so important for them to do the process from beginning to end. For them to come to school and see that, they were very sad and upset,” continued Patenaude.

Police are aware of the incidents and Patenaude says that their security will be heightened in time for the next school year. However, she is asking their neighbors to stay vigilant.

“We need our neighbors to watch out for the school and to let the police know if anything unusual is going on or if they suspect anything unusual,” said Patenaude.
