PRINCE GEORGE–A woman was placed in jail this weekend, but it was for a good reason.

Bosley’s by Pet Valu hosted their annual PAWS fundraiser for the PG Animal Rescue. This year, they placed one of their employees inside of an animal cage to get customers to donate to post bail.

People could donate money and then spin wheel, giving the employee a chance to get snacks, bathroom breaks, and even stretch time.

The employee would be set free after $1,000 was raised.

Store manager Denae Smith hopes that this year’s fundraiser will help make up for lost time and funds from last year.

“”We try and do this annually. Generally, it happens in April, but COVID’s thrown everything off. Last year, it did get cancelled so we’re trying to go really big with this one to be able to give them a lot of money.” said Smith.
