EVACUATION ORDER

UPDATED: Evacuation Order issued for Deka Lake, Sulphurous Lake

100 MILE HOUSE- The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) has upgraded the Evacuation Alert for Deka Lake residents west of 100 Mile House to an Evacuation Order due to wildfires in the area.

UPDATED 5:45 PM:

The Cariboo Regional District has added more properties to the Evacuation Order, including a number of properties along Sulpherous Lake.

The CRD says due to immediate danger to life safety due to fire, members of the RCMP or other groups will be expediting this action.

If you are affected by this order the CRD says you should do the following:

• You must leave the area immediately
• Register at the ESS Centre at the South Cariboo Recreation Centre, 175 Airport Road, 100 Mile House, BC.
• Close all windows and doors
• Do not shut off your natural gas if you receive an evacuation order. For more information visit www.fortisbc.com
• Close gates (latch) but do not lock
• Gather your family: take a neighbour or someone who needs help
• Take critical items (medicine, purse, wallet, and keys) only if they are immediately available. Take pets in pet kennels or on leash.
• Do not use more vehicles than you have to.
• Do not use the telephone unless you need emergency service.
