Cutoff Creek evacuation order rescinded
VANDERHOOF — The evacuation order for the Cutoff Creek fire has been rescinded by the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako and the Saik’uz First Nation in conjunction with BC Parks.
The order was rescinded for the following areas: the west end of Frank Lake west across Kluskus Forest Service Road at the 44 km mark to East Swanson Road, including Crystal Lake, then south to Red Road at the 11 km mark, then east to the south end of Hay Lake, then back north to the west end of Frank Lake including a portion of Finger-Tatuk Park.
Due to the potential danger to life and health an evacuation alert has been issued by the Regional District of Bulkley- Nechako, Saik’uz First Nation, and BC Parks effective August 23, for the Cutoff Creek Wildfire including the following areas: from approximately 60 km south along the Kenney Dam Road to the 500 Road, then approximately 30 km southeast to the RDBN Border. From there, it follows the border for 37 km, before heading northeast to the west end of Frank Lake and back to the Kenney Dam Road.
This alert is replacing the evacuation order and alert issued August 14, at 1100 hours. Should another Evacuation Order be required, residents are asked to be prepared to leave immediately.
