PRINCE GEORGE — The Green Party has announced its candidate for the Cariboo-Prince George riding.

It’s Leigh Hunsinger-Chang, a family physician in Prince George. She says she’s running because of the devastating effects of climate change.

“This is my first electoral endeavour and I am standing for the Green Party as they are the only national party with a substantial climate action plan to meet the targets of the Paris Agreement and start to turn the tide on climate change.”

Hunsinger-Chang runs a family practice with two colleagues and teaches as a clinical assistant professor in the UNBC Medical Program. She’s married to Dr. Steven Chang, whom she calls a “supportive and enthusiastic husband.” The couple have two small children and she is a step-mother to their teenage son.
