COVID-19 outbreak declared at Fort St. John Hospital

FORT ST. JOHN — Northern Health (NH) declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the inpatient unit at Fort St. John Hospital, following lab-confirmed cases among patients and staff on the unit.

As of Aug. 28, NH says three patients and two staff have tested positive for COVID-19.

NH says its closely monitoring for additional cases, and the facility is taking enhanced outbreak precautions such as:

• increased frequency of cleaning and infection control measures
• enhanced symptom monitoring among all staff and patients
• reducing movement of staff and patients between care areas of the hospital
