More confirmed COVID-19 cases at Site C and Trans Mountain sites, but active cases down

PRINCE GEORGE — Northern Health (NH) provided updates on COVID-19 situations at two project sites.

The COVID-19 outbreak Site C hydroelectric dam among contracted workforces on the Site C hydroelectric dam project has seen an uptake of cases.

As of Aug. 27, NH says there have been 62 lab-confirmed cases in several clusters of COVID-19 activity amongst primarily unvaccinated workers in association with the Site C outbreak, an increase of 21 since the Aug. 18 update. However, NH says 19 cases are considered active, down by 13 since the last update.

Elsewhere, as of Aug. 27, 33 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in relation to the managed cluster among Trans Mountain employees and contractors near Valemount.
