Canada’s Fourth Front candidate preaches direct democracy

PRINCE GEORGE — Direct democracy.

That’s what Canada’s Fourth Front is advocating for, and this election they’re running a candidate in the Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies riding.

For example, Phil Hewkin says all Canadians should have a say with how COVID-19 restrictions have been implemented, including vaccine passports.

“It seems to me that the mainstream parties are fully endorsing all of these tyrannical moves, or being completely silent,” he tells CKPG Today.

“Jobs are being lost and it’s been absolutely devastating. Suicides are up, which is a terrible thing. Overdose rates have climbed dramatically, which is terrible. All of these things need to be addressed.”

Hewkin says his party feels every Canadian should get a vote on every issue that affects their lives, including the ability to post questions to be voted upon by every voter in the riding who cares to.

“That vote would extend to MP recall, taxation, everything thing that the federal government encompasses. I am tired of being treated as a child by federal politicians.”

Hewkin, a father of three and a grandfather to five, says this is his first run at political office. The retired tradesman has lived in Prince George for the past 36 years.
