Crime on the rise in Fort St.James and area

FORT ST.JAMES — Mounties in Fort St. James are reporting a rise in crime.

Police there say there’s been an increase in theft complaints over the past few weeks not only in Fort St. James, but also in the Nak’azdli and rural Necoslie areas.

North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says that includes the theft of boat motors, dirt bikes and mountain bikes.

“These targeted thefts have taken place under the cover of darkness and were brazenly stolen from the owners yards.”
