PRINCE GEORGE- Statistics Canada number crunchers show the economy added 90,000 jobs in August, the third consecutive monthly increase.
The national unemployment rate fell to 7.1 per cent for the month of August , compared with 7.5 per cent in July, bringing the rate to the lowest level since the onset of the pandemic last year. Gains were concentrated in full-time work and in the hard-hit service sector.
BC’s unemployment rate dropped to 6.2 percent last month , from 6.6 percent the previous month .A different scenario on the jobs front in Prince George ,with the jobless rate on the rise at 6.5 percent last month ,from 5.7 percent in July .
