PRINCE GEORGE – A number of athletes have returned to the Rookie Rugby program that has been offered for the past four years through the Prince George Youth Rugby Association.

The programming took a hiatus last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but through assistance from Engage Sport North, the organization was able to get the programming back to being offered to kids as young as three years of age and goes up to 12.

It’s offered twice a week inside the Northern Sport Centre.

The Prince George Youth Rugby Association has been a story of rebound and rebuild this past year. Back in the Spring, the club was practicing with just a handful of girls. This past weekend, the Matrix competed in the Edmonton 7s Invitational and the U18 and U16 teams both came home with silver.
