Ambulance COVID-19 call volume growing

PRINCE GEORGE – ICUs are reaching critical levels in northern B.C. In fact Health Minister Adrian Dix says they’re so busy that patients are being moved to other regions.

Several have been moved, nine of whom tested positive for COVID-19, as a result putting a strain on hospitals and the ambulance service.

In the Northern Health region, the COVID-19 call volume for ambulance services appears to be growing.

For the first four months of 2021, the average number of call-outs per month was 204
