Cougars win third straight against Royals 5-1

PRINCE GEORGE — The Victoria Royals have been the Prince George Cougars’ bowl of warm chicken noodle soup to recover from their 0-3 start to the 2021-22 Western Hockey League (WHL) season.

The Cougars won their third straight game against the Royals in Victoria Friday (Oct. 22) night 5-1.

While the Royals opened the scoring early in the second period, the Cougars responded with five unanswered goals in less than eight minutes and never looked back. Goaltender Tyler Brennan held fort and stopped 19 of the 20 shots he faced.

The Cougars are an even 3-3-0, good for six points in six games and second in the WHL B.C. Division. They go for their fourth straight win in Victoria tonight at 7:05 p.m.
