Spruce Kings blanked by Vees 3-0

Oct 30, 2021 | 10:03 AM

PRINCE GEORGE — Wednesday’s (Oct. 27) 7-1 win over the juggernaut Penticton Vees could go down as the Prince George Spruce Kings’ best performance in the 2021-22 British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) season.

But the Vees had two days to let their lopsided loss marinate before they could answer back against the Spruce Kings. And answer back they did.

The Spruce Kings were shutout 3-0 by the Vees on Friday (Oct. 29), only testing Vees goaltender Kaeden Lane 13 times. Spruce Kings netminder Aaron Trotter kept his team in it with 35 saves.

The Spruce Kings fall to 6-2-0 on the season, good for 12 points in eight games and third in the BCHL Interior Division based on point percentage.

Prince George travels to Merritt to take on the winless Centennials at 7 p.m.
